Joint 4th Degree Renewal of Obligations 1/8/11 HNJ

All:

Dinner Tickets at $15 per person following this joint 4th Degree Ceremonial after 4:30PM Mass at HNJ on Saturday, January 8, 2011 are currently available and being sold.  Our original numbers were anticipated at 100 SK's, wives / significant others.

While our women will not be able to attend the actual ceremony itself, a wine & cheese reception along with a program of interest to them is planned.  Our  4th Degree District/State Master, James Schonefeld, will officiate the Ceremonial, his wife Dot will join the ladies.

In spite of the fact this event is still some 30 days in the future, we need to sign a contract with the caterer who will require a more than nominal deposit with an absolute drop dead date in event attendance does not meet expectations.  We have little more than a week before we must commit to this.

We do not have funds to lose a deposit, so I am asking for a return reply to this message even if you have purchased or have told one of us you are planning to attend the dinner.  A precise number is needed now to let us know if we can move forward.

To prevent emails going everywhere in a busy time, PLEASE, REPLY ONLY TO SENDER.

Peace & God Bless,

Dale

December already? Where has this year gone? Seems like we were just discussing what we were planning to do, how to pay for it, andnow we are looking at the Thanksgiving-Christmas-New Year Holidays. I started this message this morning, it's now pushing 2:00 pm, I'm still on the first paragraph, and my deadline is fast approaching - so please, Lord, let no one call for the next hour.

Part of my current happening was in touching base today with the four new 4th Degree Candidates for next week's Exemplification in Orlando. In doing so, I ran across a fifth Candidate for whom I am now trying to obtain a last name, Form 4 application, and the money he has been trying to submit.

The State deadline for this Ceremony has literally been extended to the last moment; however, those I have talked with have been unable to provide a complete name for the above Candidate, with the several wh'o have the name traveling for Thanksgiving and not yet available.

Those who I have spoken with tell me of this Candidate's travails from Daytona to Orlando to complete the earlier Degrees and how much this means to him, yet a week ahead of the Ceremony, his process is stalled. Murphy's Law! While I'm sure everything will get resolved, you will have to make our December Meeting to hear who this new member is! The KofC way!

Other new 4th Degree SK's attending the Exemplification were SK Norman Boudreau (Martin B. Powers), SK Troy Herzog, SK John Ottaway, and SK Craig Russell (Bishop Verot). All these men, including the 5th mentioned above, will be loyal, dedicated additions to the Assembly with at least two immediately waiting to join the Color Corps! Please meet and greet these new SK's at our December Meeting.

Speaking of the Color Corps, one of our more senior SK's pulled me aside at the last meeting to confirm an earlier conversation about wanting to donate a completely new Regalia to the Assembly for a deserving individual who otherwise might not be in a position to make the investment right now.

Exactly how this will be handled is still being discussed and possibly this very generous offer/gift will be settled sufficiently to announce at the December Meeting. Those who have made the investment recently can appreciate the economics involved. Guys, this Assembly simply keeps getting better and better, and it was this inspiration that energized one long-term member to act in this fashion now! .

In this regard, any SK with usable Regalia no longer being utilized for whatever reason, please consider donating to the Assembly where
it will be "recycled" to another member proud to continue your tradition of service. You can call Dale (321-727-1937), or CCC
Jim  Kiffer (321-777-9249) to make arrangements.

November proved another busy month for the Assembly COlor Corps with our Martin Power SK's leading off and participating in an All Souls Mass on November 3rd at Ascension. We also handled the Presentation of Colors at the Melbourne Auditorium Concern on November 4th, which included our newest Regalia member, Gerald Vuillemot, who was so anxious to participate he was almost an hour early!

Led by our Resident Santa Claus, SK Will Davis on his three-wheel bike, and some 13-14 Assembly Color Corps, joined with a like number from John Paul Assembly (Malabar) in Regalia at the Veterans' Day Parade in Melbourne. Various others, including family members, in shirts and aprons, helped in distributing Tootsie Rolls along the route. That same afternoon, CCC Jim Kiffer, George Adams, and Ed Reilly represented us at the BCC Campus in Cocoa for an Annual Massing of the Colors.

Last week (at this writing), we handled a Funeral Mass at Ascension and a Knights Memorial Mass for Deceased Members at HNJ. Again, this simply would not have been possible a short year ago! Thanks to all of you who are making this possible! CCC Jim Kiffer undoubtedly believes he was sold the biggest con job of the Assembly when I asked him to take the CCC position.

Seriously, Jim has never complained and has proven to be a most dedicated and conscientious CCC. You would be surprised at the accessory items he carries to effect small, but necessary, repairs for items that break or get forgotten. Thanks to Jim, we are now generally looking very sharp! As our numbers grow, our burden, our burden lessons.

Once again, I urge each member to attend the joint "Renewal of Obligations" Ceremony with the other two Melbourne area Assemblies on Saturday, January 8, 2011, which conducted as intended, is a very solemn restatement of our various Knights of Columbus pledges.

Keep in mind that this will also constitute our January Meeting and represent a one time meeting date, time and location change to Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic, following the 4:30 pm Mass.

Our new State Master, James Schonfeld, has agreed to attend/preside at this function. Dress will be formal 4th Degree Tuxedo. Wives are invited. I have requested wives to allowed to attend the Ceremony and will pass along the response at our December Meeting.

Following the Ceremony, a moderately priced meal in recognition of the economic times, as well as the proximity to following all those Christmas expenses, will be available. Please make every effort to attend.

Please reserve this date! More details will be forthcoming.

Veteran Support Program. We had six to seven gift cards donated for this Program at the last meeting from various merchants and amounts. You will see elsewhere how to participate as each of you might be able. Please try to do so, It's a good program, well supervised and accounted. SK Ed Reilly will continue to take what gets donated to the Veterans personnel. Every donation makes a difference to a veteran.

From Sue and myself, a Happy Thanksgiving to each of you and your loved ones! See you at the December

Meeting.

Peace and God Bless,
Dale Saunders, Faithful Navigator
